Hello,
I’m Tash, Welcome back to my blog please like, comment nahh.. I’m just kidding haha but seriously read this if you are not wearing SPF right now. Actually, first go put on some SPF and then read this, Thank you!
All jokes aside let’s get into all the nitty gritty as to why YOU should wear SPF every single day!
We all love soaking in the sun, don’t we? As much as we love sitting under the sun, it is also so important that we protect ourselves from the harmful UV rays the sun radiates.
While exposure to the sun is necessary in order for our bodies to make Vitamin D which helps absorb calcium for stronger, healthier bones, we only need to be exposed to the sun for a very short in order for this to happen. I don’t know about you, but if Melbourne weather was not so bipolar, I’d be happy to sit in the sun all day long and do nothing.
So, here’s the scientific stuff –
The sun radiates two types of rays, UVA and UVB rays and one might ask what on earth are these and why they are harmful,
Girl, let me tell you or Boy, cause SPF is equally IMPORTANT to everyone!!
UVA rays – These are the rays responsible in causing ageing, giving you wrinkles and also contribute to skin cancer, we definitely don’t want to look like the truck driver William McElligott( if you know what I am talking about, message me and I promise you we can have a conversation about it) I will insert a picture here and the link to the article, it’s an amazing read, anyway, these rays are easily passed through the ozone layer which means there a lot of these rays around us.
UVB rays – these rays are equally dangerous and are responsible in causing sunburns and impacting your immune system.
Okay so now that we have established how dangerous UV rays are, let’s get into what SPF you might be able to use if you don’t have one, the products below are based on my experience, I have used them and they have not irritated my skin whatsoever
SPF Products that I swear by
Mesoestetic
I have used this brand for over 2 years and its freaking amazing, I started using this brand when my skin was at its worst and I can’t even imagine explaining how much of a difference it made in my skin anyway back to SPF

Mesoestetic Dermatological Sun Protection – SPF50+
This is an amazing sunscreen to use under your make-up etc, it is specifically designed for sensitive and oily skin types and protects you from both UVA and UVB rays, its almost like a tinted moisturizer and for all of my melanin skinned girls out there I know the struggle of looking ashy and having a horrible white cast, this particular sunscreen does none of that stuff, truly amazing. Apologies for the state of my sunscreen, I usually keep It in my make-up bag and hence why it looks crazy

Mesoestetic Mineral Matt Antiaging fluid
This is also specifically designed for very sensitive skin, combination and oily skin types, it is a very high factor sunscreen (SPF50+), it is formulated with mineral filters and mattifying particles
that eliminate excess shine and leave the skin with a velvety matt finish.
Mesoestetic Sun stick
This is the cutest little sunscreen stick ever, it can be easily popped in your bag and taken anywhere that way you’ll never forget to wear it, this is mainly for highly sensitive areas like such as the lips, eye contour, scars, etc. It incorporates rosehip oil to boost skin regeneration which is amazing. I sometimes use salicylic acid products, and if you do use AHA’s and BHA’s on your skin, YOU NEED TO WEAR SPF, cause otherwise you can severely damage your skin and itll do more harm than good

Medik8
Physical sunscreen - Broad Spectrum SPF 50+
This particular sunscreen provides powerful broad-spectrum protection from UVA and UVB rays. It is also rich in antioxidants and perfect for daily protection. One thing I love about this sunscreen is that its coral-reef friendly, kudos to the brand for that. This sunscreen also has anti-pollution, anti-infrared, and anti-glycation properties to protect and shield your skin from environmental aggressors to help prevent fine lines and wrinkles.
Here are some other sunscreens that I haven’t tried but I have heard great things about them
- La Roche-Posay Invisible Fluid Facial Sunscreen SPF 50+ 50ml
- Mineral UV Filters SPF 30 with Antioxidants
- CeraVe Hydrating Sunscreen SPF 50 Face Lotion
Truck Driver William McElligott Story
Its a story about how a truck driver was impacted by the sun, Its an amazing story on the impacts of UV rays, If you don't believe me how the sun can damage your face over time, please do read this article for more insight!

I hope you enjoyed this piece on SPF and gained a little bit of knowledge as to why you should be wearing SPF every single day!
